WordParty Poetry Challenge - Writing Prompt #16

Day 16
Instrument Poem
by Ingrid

If you were a musical instrument, what would you be and why? This prompt of course ties in to the theme of celebrating Jazz Appreciation and National Poetry Month.

So, what would it be? A bazooka (yes it is an instrument), a itsy bitsy ukelele, harmonica, a gigantic bass, a sexy sax, geeetar or some congas dying to be thump thump thumpppppped?

What songs would you play? Where would you like to be played?

This prompt is inspired by Geordie's reading of Jayne Cortez' poem "If the Drum is a Woman" last month.

And, don't forget to bring your poems to our open mic tomorrow night (Tues 4/17) and show us your stuff! I'll still be posting writing prompts through the end of April.

Again, send 'em to wordparty@gmail.com if you would like to share. I will post some of the goodies once the month is finished.

With love & Poetry,
Ingrid
